This is a piece from my latest collection. My husband always offers me the first and last bite and after 3 years I realized that at a point I almost forgot that this is something that I really appreciate and should be highlighted more. This simple, small sweet gesture often really makes my day. For this piece I wanted a juxtaposition of flat/cartoony and realistic looking objects in one image because I felt like it gives the piece character and highlights the interplay between real life and fantasies.
Might be my favourite sugar-glazed donut. This plus batch brew? GOLD. Also my hubby bought this for me so I really wanted a way to retain this sweet memory.
My view at my workstation. The lilies have finally bloomed yay! <3
To be honest I was a little hesitant when I was at this point. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do this piece justice because I'm not really professionally trained for this. But I figured its ok if i'm just doing it for enjoyment anyway.
I wasn't too sure how I'd portray the bite marks but I ended up toggling the visibility of the original drawing against my image many times to very closely observe each grain.
Random thought but I'm really glad I got this shade of red for my mani. Sooo pretty under sunlight arghh
